Pelicans Inc. 

Pelicans Inc is an auxiliary of Bairnsdale Regional Health Service. It is a network of East Gippsland business and community leaders who drive the Pelican Appeal to raise $500,000 for the construction of a new cancer and renal centre at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service.

It is hoped that the Dialysis and Oncology Centre at BRHS will commence construction in 2008 and will provide the urgently needed upgrade of facilities for East Gippsland renal and cancer patients and their families. The Pelican Oncology and Dialysis Fund has accumulated $1.6million of the $1.8million needed for the new facility from trusts, bequests, government, BRHS and community contributions.

Pelican 2008 fundraising activities include:

• The Feast On East Festival - March 2008
• The Sandakan Trek (100kms), Malaysia - 19th - 25th April 2008
• Toonalook Waters House Auction - a joint project with the Practical Men of the Village - Nov 2008
